General Questions
What types of products does Triple T Outdoors carry?
We carry a wide selection of archery and crossbow products including compound bows, recurve bows, crossbows, arrows, crossbow bolts, broadheads, bow sights, bow accessories, targets, and more. We carry top brands including Bear Archery, Diamond Archery, Ravin, TenPoint, Gold Tip, Easton, Carbon Express, and many others.
Do you carry products for both beginners and experienced archers?
Absolutely. We carry everything from youth and beginner bow packages all the way up to elite hunting crossbows like the Ravin R470E and TenPoint TX440 Xero. Whatever your skill level, we have the right gear for you.
I'm not sure where to start — how do I choose the right bow?
Start by asking yourself three questions: What will I use it for (hunting, 3D shooting, target archery, or all three)? What is my budget? Am I right- or left-handed? From there, consider your draw length and a comfortable draw weight for your experience level. The right starting draw weight depends on your age, size, and physical strength — USA Archery recommends beginning with a weight you can draw smoothly and hold with proper form, rather than a fixed number. Beginners often start lower than they expect and work up gradually as form and strength improve. If you'd like a personal recommendation, reach out through our Contact Us page and we'll help you find the right setup.
Which Bow Should I Buy? — A Buyer's Guide by Shooter Type
Not sure where to start? Here's a breakdown by how you plan to shoot. These are our honest recommendations based on what we carry — not just what's most expensive.
🎯 New to Archery / First Bow
If you've never shot before, start with a forgiving, adjustable package that grows with you as your form and strength improve.
- Best pick: Diamond Atomic Bow Package — a compact youth bow with a 12–24" draw length range and adjustable draw weight up to 29 lbs. Designed specifically for younger or smaller shooters. If you're an adult new to archery, see the Deploy SB below or contact us for a fit recommendation.
- Also consider: Genesis Mini Bow Set — zero let-off design teaches proper form, no draw length adjustment needed. Great for beginners and youth programs.
- What to look for: Wide draw weight/length adjustment range, included accessories, forgiving brace height (7"+ is more forgiving).
🦌 Hunting (Compound Bow)
For hunting, you want a reliable package with enough draw weight for clean ethical kills (minimum 40 lbs for deer in most states) and a setup that's quiet and compact in the field.
- Best pick: Diamond Deploy SB RAK Package — available at 60 or 70 lbs, comes ready to hunt with sight, rest, quiver, and stabilizer. Proven performer for whitetail and beyond.
- Also available in LH: Diamond Deploy SB RAK — Mossy Oak LH
- What to look for: Draw weight 50–70 lbs, short axle-to-axle for tight blinds, included RTH accessories.
🏹 Traditional / Recurve
If you want to strip it back to basics or shoot Olympic-style, a recurve bow rewards technique over technology. Slower to master, deeply satisfying.
- Best pick: Bear Grizzly Hunter Recurve — 40 lbs RH or 45 lbs RH — classic American-made recurve, perfect for traditional hunting and target work.
- Also consider: October Mountain Sektor Recurve — 62" 45 lbs LH — great value for left-handed traditional shooters.
- What to look for: Comfortable draw weight for your strength (most adults start 35–45 lbs), appropriate bow length for your draw length.
🔭 Crossbow

Crossbows & Accessories We carry high-performance crossbows, bolts, and accessories from top industry-leading brands, including Ravin, TenPoint, Wicked Ridge, Barnett, and Killer Instinct. Bows & Crossbows
What is the difference between a compound bow and a recurve bow?
A compound bow uses a system of cams and cables to reduce the holding weight at full draw, making it easier to aim and hold for longer periods. A recurve bow is a more traditional design with no cams — the limbs curve away from the archer, storing more energy than a straight-limbed bow. Compound bows are generally preferred for hunting and target archery, while recurve bows are popular for traditional archery and Olympic-style shooting.
What does LH and RH mean?
LH stands for Left Hand and RH stands for Right Hand. This refers to the hand you use to draw the bowstring — not the hand you write with. A right-handed archer holds the bow in their left hand and draws with their right hand, so they need a Right Hand (RH) bow. If you are unsure, we recommend visiting a local archery shop to determine your dominant eye and correct draw hand.
What does draw weight mean?
Draw weight is the amount of force (measured in pounds) required to fully draw a bow. Higher draw weights produce more speed and energy, which is important for hunting. Most states require a minimum draw weight for deer hunting — typically 40 lbs. The right draw weight depends on the individual archer's size, strength, and experience. Start with a weight you can draw and hold smoothly with proper form — you can always increase it as you build strength.
What is a bow package?
A bow package (also called RTH — Ready to Hunt) includes the bow plus a set of accessories such as a sight, arrow rest, quiver, wrist sling, and sometimes arrows. Packages are a great value for new archers who want everything they need to start shooting right away.
Do bows ship ready to shoot?
Most bow packages include pre-installed accessories and are close to ready to shoot. Draw length and draw weight can be adjusted to fit the individual shooter. If you have any questions about your new bow's setup, contact us and we'll point you in the right direction.
What is Helicoil technology on Ravin crossbows?
Ravin's Helicoil technology rotates the cams in opposite directions simultaneously, keeping the arrow perfectly centered and balanced throughout the entire power stroke. This results in exceptional accuracy and consistency that sets Ravin crossbows apart from the competition.
What is ACUslide on TenPoint crossbows?
ACUslide is TenPoint's silent cocking and de-cocking system. It allows you to safely cock and de-cock your crossbow without firing a bolt, using a smooth hand-crank mechanism. This is a major safety and convenience feature for hunters.
Arrows & Bolts
What is the difference between an arrow and a crossbow bolt?
Arrows are used with traditional and compound bows and are typically 26–32 inches long. Crossbow bolts (also called quarrels) are shorter — usually 16–22 inches — and are designed specifically for crossbows. It is important to use the correct bolt length and weight specified by your crossbow manufacturer.
How do I choose the right arrow spine?
Arrow spine is the stiffness rating of an arrow shaft, and selecting the correct spine is one of the most important factors in accurate arrow flight. An arrow that is too stiff or too weak for your setup will fly inconsistently and affect your accuracy.
The correct spine depends on four main factors:
- Draw weight — Higher draw weights require a stiffer (lower number) spine
- Draw length — Longer draw lengths require a stiffer spine
- Arrow length — Longer arrows flex more and may need a stiffer spine
- Point weight — Heavier points (100gr+) require a stiffer spine
Arrow spine is expressed as a number — the lower the number, the stiffer the arrow. Common spine ratings include 250, 300, 340, 400, 500, and 600. A 250 spine is very stiff (for high draw weights), while a 600 spine is very flexible (for low draw weights).
General guideline:
- 40–55 lbs draw weight: 400–500 spine
- 55–70 lbs draw weight: 340–400 spine
- 70–80 lbs draw weight: 250–340 spine
Always consult the arrow manufacturer's spine selection chart for your specific setup. If you're unsure, contact us and we'll help you choose the right arrows for your bow.
What bolt specifications should I use for my crossbow?
Crossbow bolts are specified differently than compound bow arrows. Key specs to match to your crossbow manufacturer's requirements include bolt length (typically 16–22 inches), total weight (typically 350–500 grains), and straightness tolerance. Straightness tolerance — expressed as figures like .001 or .003 — refers to how straight the bolt shaft is, not spine stiffness: a .001 bolt is straighter (and more precise) than a .003 bolt. Always follow your crossbow manufacturer's specifications for bolt length, weight, straightness, and nock type. Using incorrect bolts can affect performance and void your warranty.
